Pantser vs Plotter: What do they mean?

This post is going to be short and snappy because I'm hungry and I want to eat my lunch!

This week I've been hearing all about Pantser's vs Plotter's but I didn't know exactly what that meant. So I went ahead and did some research and found out!

Pantser's are people who have the writing style where they just sit down at their computer and write a story without knowing where they are going or where they'll end up. They learn about the story and the characters as they go. This way of writing is awesome to just get your ideas on the page and there will be many surprises for the author along the way which creates bigger surprises for the reader! However, this kind of writing means a lot more editing when you've finished your first draft.

A Plotter is someone who maps out their story before they start. They may jot down notes of every scene or write a detailed outline of everything that will happen in their story. Some Plotter's follow their plan religiously and others use it as a loose guideline.
