How To Create Conflict In Your Story

Creating conflict can be hard when we love our characters and we want their lives to work out to be perfect. Having characters with no flaws and that get along great with one another is a sure way to make conflict non-existant in your story.

An easy way to create conflict is by having a character suggest something "Let's eat cake" and the other character says "No."

Another way of creating conflict on a bigger scale is to have characters who are very different, maybe you have a character that thinks work is the most important thing in the world and another character thinks work is the quickest way to living a corrupt live, now marry them and bam! You have conflict.

On an even bigger scale you can have someone who wants to destroy the entire planet and another who wants to save it. Damn, now that's some tricky conflict.

The best way to create conflict in your story is to put two or more characters together who have opposing goals.

It can be as simple as someone wanting to bake cookies and the other trying to throw out the oven.

Simple is always best.
